Visual Art
MISSION:
To promote, support and participate in providing programs for the children, adults and art organizations of Brunswick county that will encompass all forms of the Visual arts that will include, but not necessarily limited to, the areas of painting, sculpture, glass, fibers, which will contribute to their appreciation, cultural and educational experiences.

GOALS:
  • To cultivate awareness and appreciation of the Visual Arts discipline
  • Present programs highlighting the Visual Arts in Brunswick County
  • To serve the Visual Arts related organizations in Brunswick county
  • To serve as an information resource for the Visual Arts organizations, artists and art seekers in Brunswick county
  • To seek and provide workshops and venues for students and adults for the   purpose of enhancing and exhibiting their works in the Visual Arts

PLANNED PROGRAMS:
  • Public art projects – Mural painting – Indoor/Outdoor projects  Middle and High School students
  • After school/summer program – Promote Visual interest showing the beauty, culture history and future of Brunswick County
  • Professional Artists – Sidewalk and Mall Sculpture
  • Annual Fall Art Show and Sale
  • 1st Annual Photography Show and Sale
  • Co-sponsored by Brunswick Arts Council and Brunswick County Commissioners – Contest entries with established parameters and awards
  • Outdoor/Indoor Student Art Shows – Elementary, Junior High students – held at various venues with awards
  • Offer Art programs to Senior Centers, Nursing Homes utilizing experienced Volunteers
  • Contact movie studios and discuss the possibility of Stagecraft lecture/Workshops, as well as, providing High School student apprentices
  • Discuss and promote the progress of Art programs at Brunswick Community College and development of the Visual Arts and Art Education programs, whereby high school students can obtain prior college experience in Art Education field of the Visual Arts
