The Literary Arts Division seeks
- To enrich people’s lives through sharing the love of creative use of words;
- To create vehicles for artists to communicate their thoughts, feelings and work with each other;
- To foster collaborative efforts with artists in other media
- To mentor young word artists into published authors in all mediums;
- To provide support during their transformations through education and practical experience;
- To introduce budding word artists to industry standards and access;
- To document author’s experiences, histories and their creative processes for public appreciation.

Forum Dates and Luncheon information

The Brunswick Writers Literary Group, in concert with the Brunswick Arts Council, has announced the following calendar for planned Literary Events this year.
Brunswick Writers Forum Dates: Each forum is scheduled for a Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm at Brunswick Community College.
Forums are offered to writers, both published and unpublished and those who have an interest in publishing. There is no cost to attend the forums. Published writers are encouraged to bring a copy of their published book to donate to the group drawing each meeting.
The theme for this year is “The Road to Publication.” Each of the quarterly forums provides a panel of published authors who discuss a specific topic related to publication, in addition to the featured speaker of the day.
In addition, a quarterly luncheon is held, Dutch treat, at a local restaurant to allow interested persons to have lunch with an author and ask questions regarding publishing processes or projects they may be currently writing. Luncheons are held from 12:30 TO 2:00 PM.

Quarterly Forums:
1. February 27th 2011:
February 27th 2011: Featured Speaker: Mike Marsh, Author, Columnist, Speaker published in national Wildlife magazines. Mike has just released “Fishing in North Carolina” and will be available to sign copies after the presentation.
Mr. Marsh is the premier outdoor writer of the Carolinas and truly an inspiration for any writer aspiring to freelance or publish. Mike spent four years researching for this book and has used his writing expertise to describe everything from water access to his personal favorite spots. Mike is a full-time outdoors writer and has been quite successful both locally and nationwide.

Luncheons: A time to get together with other writers and just chat, one-on-one….Dutch treat meeting at restaurants in Brunswick County. Luncheons start at 12:30 pm and usually end about 2 pm. A great way to get your questions answered on a personal level.
