Information and details about the various grant programs offered by the
Brunswick Arts Council:





Brunswick Arts Council has been allotted use for NC Grassroots Grants for the following funds:

               2007 ---------- $28,849.00

               2008 ---------- $31,301.00

2009 ---------- $32,900.00

The Grassroots Sub-Granting system was designed to decentralize the grant making process at the state level and to be a local source of state support for arts organizations.
With this in mind, the first priority for awarding Sub-Grants would be projects of qualified arts organizations (where they exist) such as:

  • theaters, symphonies, galleries, art guilds, choral societies, dance companies, writers groups or arts festivals
  • Grassroots County Allotments are determined by population of the County and racial/cultural diversity
  • Grassroots must be matched dollar for dollar with cash from local sources
  • This matching requirement was designed to assure that citizens in each county committed at least as much money for the arts each year as did the state
  • The Grassroots program allows any arts expenditures made with money raised within the county to be identified as a match
  
Sub-Grantees Applications are to be sent back to the Brunswick Arts Council Chairperson by October 15th of every year.

 
Sub-Grantees Report Forms are to be sent back to the Brunswick Arts Council Chairperson by June 30th of every year.

Group Grant

Brunswick Arts Council provides a Group Grant Program in all art disciplines to groups whose programs contribute to the arts and culture of Brunswick County.

Funds have been set aside to be offered to groups which includes clubs, associations and similar affiliations providing artistic and/or cultural offerings or services, such as forums, lecture presentations, school programs, seminars, reading programs, photography, music, ceramics, poetry, wood turning and other similar activities that provide high quality art programs benefiting the Brunswick County Community.

Individual Grant

The Brunswick Arts Council Individual Artist's Grant Program is intended to provide financial assistance to qualifying artists residing in Brunswick County.

Our mission is to inspire and promote appreciation and education for a broad range of arts and cultural interests in the Brunswick County Community.  This year's funding has been set aside for distribution to artists who prepare a well-documented grant proposal to demonstrate that funding will significantly advance their artistic goals.

Applicants must be Brunswick County residents for one year or more,  who are 18 years of age and older.  Previous grant recipients cannot apply in consecutive years.

2007 - Group Grant Amounts Awarded ------   $ 4725.

2008 - Individual Grant Amounts Awarded -- $ 7535.
2008 - Group Grant Amounts Awarded -------  $ 6089.

2009 - Individual Grant Amounts Awarded -- $ 4908.
2009 - Group Grant Amounts Awarded ------   $ 4500.
